New England Food Entrepreneurs (NEFE)
The New England Food Entrepreneurs (NEFE)‘s website is maintained by a regional network of Cooperative Extension food safety and produce specialists as well as educators and food science faculty from the six New England land-grant universities. In addition to this website, they develop and implement food safety education programs to meet the needs of each sector of the regional food system from farm to table.
Cooperative Extension is an outreach program of the land-grant university system in the United States. Extension helps people improve their lives and communities by bringing research-based information and education on a variety of topics and issue areas to the people and businesses in each state.
The Farm Food Safety Toolbox section of this website was developed by Heather Bryant, Agriculture Field Specialist, and Catherine Violette, Extension Professor/Specialist, with the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension. The Farm Food Safety Toolbox project was funded by a 2014 USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant administered by the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets and Food.
